About Us
South Holland Business Association
The South Holland Business Association (SHBA) provides its members with access to information, resources, and relationships that can facilitate opportunities for growth, advancement and prosperity. Since 1979, SHBA has offered an array of amenities and benefits that help members achieve their business and professional goals.
SHBA Events are held throughout the year and include:
Lunch Meetings
SHBA plans one-hour business luncheon meetings on the fourth Thursday of every month. These meetings offer a time for local business men and women to meet and network over a light lunch, and at the same time hear qualified speakers from all over the region. The meetings offer “open mike” opportunities for businesses to share what’s going on in their enterprise.
Beautification Awards
Each year SHBA Beautification Committee selects outstanding Businesses and/or Institutions who show exemplary efforts in enhancing their businesses and properties through remodeling and/or landscaping improvements. Awards are presented at the SHBA Annual Holiday Luncheon.
Golf Outing
SHBA coordinates an annual golf outing, which is usually held in June. This four-person scramble event raises funds for our scholarships that are awarded to college students from SHBA members.
Business After Hours
Throughout the year, a SHBA member opens its doors for an after-hours social allowing community business leaders to network with their peers.. A SHBA After Hours offers the host business a great opportunity to let others tour its facilities, learn about the business, and make contacts in the community. If you are interested in hosting a Business After Hours please contact the SHBA office.
Mission Statement
The South Holland Business Association (SHBA) is a premier association that advances the interests of our members by providing access to information, resources, and relationships that foster opportunities for business success in our community.
Core Values
Business is an essential element of all successful communities. A community’s fundamental existence rests upon the foundation of a healthy economy. The interests of residents, businesses, government, educators and the not-for-profit sector are inextricably bound together. All have a stake in the community’s viability and vitality.
As such, SHBA’s core values mirror those of the Village of South Holland and are as follows:
-
Leadership: We recognize civic opportunities, formulate solutions and mobilize resources to bring to reality our vision of a thriving, prosperous community.

-
Integrity: We adhere to personal and organizational guidelines of behavior that, publicly and privately, are morally binding in principle and in practice.

-
Innovation: We create new concepts to reach our goals, operating with high degrees of resourcefulness and professionalism in process and performance.

-
Collaboration: We form business partnerships marked by transparency, trust and cooperation, establishing business programs mutually beneficial to all parties.

-
Economic Vitality: We promote economic development and a thriving business culture in the Village of South Holland and surrounding areas.

-
Advocacy: We provide advocacy for our members by representing them in city, township, county, state, and national legislative and political affairs.

-
Education: By recognizing the invaluable worth that education brings in creating a thriving and successful workforce, we support the area’s educational institutions, which are a cornerstone of the area’s economy.

-
Sustainability: Pursuing both social equity and economic development, we are building a life-changing legacy of hope and opportunity for generations to come.
